Simple, Efficient and Durable.
The Dragonfly II® was developed
under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the
Agricultural Research Service (ARS), the chief scientific research
agency of the United States Department of Agriculture.
The Dragonfly II lures mosquitoes with a blend of carbon dioxide (CO2),
heat and octenol, the same chemical cues that attract
mosquitoes and other biting insects in nature. When animals and
humans breathe, they exhale an invisible mixture of CO2 and octenol
(a type of alcohol). Mosquitoes and biting insects have receptors
that detect these chemicals up to 100 feet away. Mosquitoes are
attracted by these chemicals and will fly immediately toward the
human or animal target they have detected. Mosquitoes also have
delicate heat sensors that help them locate their blood supply. As
they get closer to their prey, they use these sensors to find landing
sites where the blood is closest to the surface.
The Dragonfly mimics the human or animal blood system, which helps
lure mosquitoes to the trap. It looks and smells like the animals
mosquitoes prefer, drawing them away from people. The difference is
that when mosquitoes hone in on the target and stop to dine, they are
killed with an electronic pulse and fall into a removable tray.
That's a big advantage over traditional electrical bug-zapping type
traps that splatter mostly beneficial insects everywhere into tiny bits.
The Dragonfly II weighs 15 pounds and is
approximately 16.5 inches by 16.5 inches by 16.25 inches tall. State
of the art components and advanced materials are used throughout, for
years of safety, reliability and colorfast beauty... even in direct sunlight.
No maintenance is required. A patented microprocessor controls the
emission of CO2, octenol and the thermal image generated by the Dragonfly II.
No matter what the temperature, the microprocessor maintains these
attractants at optimal levels: To a mosquito, the Dragonfly II
always looks like a shaved rabbit!
The dragonfly II features 8 operating modes: The machine can be
switched to either evening, or night, or afternoon so that it
automatically runs only when mosquitoes are present. The machine can
run on automatic for computer-managed efficiency.
In addition, the dosage of CO2 attractant released can be controlled:
You can select high level for periods or areas of heavy infestation,
and or moderate level for periods or areas of normal infestation.
Finally, it can be set to work without CO2, by only using the
patented insect lure and the infra-red attractant.

The Dragonfly II is quiet and easy to operate.
Follow some simple placement instructions, then the only additional
equipment needed is an electrical outlet. Control lights indicate
operating mode and warn when CO2 level is low.
The Dragonfly II is CUL approved. It uses
115/230 volts and 50Hz/60Hz electricity. Consumption is comparable to
a 40 watt light bulb.
The unit operates in a non-toxic mode of action. The patented
attractants are registered with the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) for controlling mosquitoes and other biting
insects. The CO2 (not supplied) is easily available from WalMart,
Dick's Sporting Goods, Lowe's or other stores. Some locations fill
empty bottles, but most locations exchange full bottles for empty ones.
With the Dragonfly Mosquito System, you can protect your family
without harming other beneficial insects or the environment.
The Dragonfly Mosquito System® combines
the Dragonfly II and a Conceal
dispenser such as the Mosquito
'Cognito or the Conceal
Candle. This one-two punch offers the most efficient
and cost effective system on the market.
The Dragonfly II features a one year
parts and labor warranty and a 30-day satisfaction or
your money back guarantee. Very few competitors are sufficiently
confident about their product to offer this type of warranty.
